Samaralakto plant is launching a new line manufacturing Activia thermostatic yogurts. About 1.5 billion rubles ($24.1 million) have been invested into the plant’s modernization and equipment; the enterprise provided 35 new jobs. It is planned that the new line is going to produce up to twenty tons of thermostatic yogurt every day.
Thermostatic yogurts are made by ripening the milk inside the cans. Such a technology requires a production line equipped with special thermal chamber. The chamber provides and maintains the necessary temperature which makes milk ripen shortly.
“Today Samaralacto is the only plant of the company in Russia, where thermostatic yogurts are made. By equipping our enterprise with this new machinery we turned Samaralacto into highly modern and important production site. The investments and new jobs are demonstrating that Danone is considering the interests of the region and its population,” Stephane Couste, the Managing Director of the Danone’s Volga Group division noted.
Danone company group is continuing working according to its approved investment plan; the plan reads that before the year 2018 the company is planning to invest about $700 million into Russian economy, $400 million had been already invested during the previous three years.
