Fyodor Ovchinnikov, CEO of Dodo Pizza, a chain of pizzerias from Syktyvkar, Russia, announced the company’s plans to open the first restaurant in the UK in his post on Facebook.
In his words, construction works on a pizzeria in Brighton “are in full swing”, the opening is scheduled closer to the end of this year. “When in England, make sure to pay a visit to us. Brighton is a seaside resort town, a little more than an hour by train from London,” he wrote.
The façade of the restaurant is already completed, it feature the company’s new corporate style. A familiar logo, depicting a bird, remains intact. The menu will take into account tastes and habits of Britons. The company aims at competing with British fast food chains.
Earlier Ovchinnikov ordered to carry our all correspondence between the managing company’s staff in English. In his words, it will be useful in the long term, becoming the first step towards the creation of a “global brand”.
In March 2016, the company opened its first restaurant in the United States. The businessman plans to run 400 own and franchisee restaurants there within 10 years.
