In the run-up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, Coca-Cola announces the launch of its largest integrated promo campaign in the company’s history of working in the country: #готовы (‘we are ready’). It will last until the end of the tournament. Coca-Cola is an official partner of FIFA.
By tradition, the company presents its own football anthem for the World Cup. Its Russian version will be created by Basta, a popular Russian rap musician and Ambassador of one of the World Cup host cities, Rostov-on-Don, in partnership with Jason Derulo. The official release is scheduled for May 11, 2018. This track will become the main melody for #готовы.
The global version of Coca-Cola’s football anthem is performed by Jason Derulo, a world-renowned musician. Colors, the official release of which took place on March 9, instantly became a hit, and the official music video, released on April 12, was viewed more than 2 million times on YouTube in less than 48 hours, hitting the top 10 videos.
Coca-Cola’s football app for Vkontakte (Russia’s major social network) enables everyone to become a part of the football festival.
People from across the country can participate in the draw of tickets for World Cup matches and other valuable prizes. In addition, it contains information on activities, conducted by Coca-Cola in anticipation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Users can post their photos, taken during the Official Cup Tour, figure out how many handshakes connect them with players of the Russian national team, and much more.
Young football fans are in for the most interesting part — they will be able to take part in World Cup matches, including the final round, as an accompanying judge. This person brings a coin to the judge before the start of the match.
The draw will take place among guys or girls aged 14 to 17 years. To participate, you need to buy a can of Coca-Cola with a special design, make a creative photo with it and post it in your app.
During the large-scale promo campaign, over a million football awards will find their owners: cups, t-shirts and baseballs with the symbols of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The campaign starts on May 1 and will last until July 15.
Coca-Cola as the exclusive organizer of the World Cup Tour contributes to the preparations for the international tournament in Russia.
On May 1, 2018, the FIFA World Cup will return to Russia and continue to travel the country to visit 9 cities: Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, and Moscow.
