Nestlé announced the launch of a new line of coffee under the Starbucks brand. The range includes 13 products, including coffee beans, ground coffee, as well as capsules for Nespresso and Nescafe coffee machines.
This is the first launch of Nestlé’s products for home consumption under the Starbucks brand in Russia. For Starbucks, it means the entry to a new market segment — home coffee, available in stores and online. The products are made from high-quality 100% Arabica coffee beans, collected in world-renowned coffee growing in accordance with ethical standards.
Martial Rolland, CEO of Nestlé in Russia and Eurasia: “Innovation is one of the key growth drivers for Nestlé in Russia and Eurasia. We are happy to introduce a new range of wonderful coffee in the premium category. As part of a global partnership with Starbucks and Nestlé, we combine three iconic brands — Nespresso, Nescafe, and Starbucks. Such cooperation will contribute to the development of the coffee market: it will increase the growth rate in existing and new segments and provide consumers with an excellent choice of new products.”
Yves Küng, Director of Coffee and Beverages, Nestlé in Russia, Eurasia and Ukraine: “Coffee is one of the most popular beverage categories in Russia. Thanks to our global coffee alliance with Starbucks, we bring moments of enjoying a cup of excellent coffee from a coffee shop closer to our consumers. Now Russian coffee fans can purchase the new product in stores and enjoy Starbucks high quality at home. It is made with care and love from coffee beans, delivered from the most famous coffee regions. The launch of new products will support our premium strategy and strengthen Nestlé’s leading positions in the coffee category in Russia.”
The global partnership between the companies was announced in August 2018. Within its framework, Nestlé acquired perpetual rights around the world to sell Starbucks consumer products, packed coffee and tea outside coffee shops, with the exception of takeaway beverages. The agreement strengthens Nestlé’s leading positions in the coffee business internationally.
