Mark Formelle socks with the inscription “Poyekhali! Priyekhali...” have been successfully launched into orbit and are now circling the planet.
Belarusian socks were brought into low-Earth orbit by a small spacecraft, launched near St. Petersburg on April 12 — Cosmonautics Day. The package is now flying around the planet. If astronauts need an extra pair of socks, they’ve got it at their disposal.
The socks are from the brand’s new collection, Space is Closer Than You Think. The new socks now accompany car transportation in Russia, as well as space launches. The main character on the print is an astronaut in a spacesuit against the background of distant planets and extraterrestrial landscapes. Starfield, humans, space and moonwalk — the moonwalk made famous by Michael Jackson — are used as references.
“Near-Earth orbit lacked our clothing, so we decided to expand the range to a cosmic scale. But seriously, this is a tribute to the brave conquerors of the universe — from Yuri Gagarin to today’s cosmonauts, astronauts and romantic people who dream that one day they will see the blue planet in the palm of their hand. The new collection features fantasies and hopes, and we are still in anticipation of big space discoveries, just like in childhood,” a Mark Formelle representative said.
